Â鶹´«Ã½ Announces Resignation of Michael Consedine as CEO

The Â鶹´«Ã½ (Â鶹´«Ã½) announced today that Michael (Mike) F. Consedine is stepping down as the organization's Chief Executive Officer, effective April 30, 2023. Consedine has served as the CEO of the Â鶹´«Ã½ since January 2017. 

"On behalf of our members and the Â鶹´«Ã½ staff, we are grateful to Mike for all his good work over the past six-plus years and his commitment to the Â鶹´«Ã½ and the state-based system of insurance regulation," said Â鶹´«Ã½ President and Missouri Department of Commerce and Insurance Director Chlora Lindley-Myers. "We are proud of his many accomplishments, including providing stability and leadership during the pandemic; spearheading efforts to help us develop our State Ahead and State Connected strategic plans; and his unwavering commitment and support of our state-based system in the challenging international area. We wish him the best in his future endeavors."

The Â鶹´«Ã½ is expecting to appoint an Acting CEO during its Spring National Meeting, which begins next week in Louisville, Kentucky.

As part of our state-based system of insurance regulation in the United States, the Â鶹´«Ã½ (Â鶹´«Ã½) provides expertise, data, and analysis for insurance commissioners to effectively regulate the industry and protect consumers. The U.S. standard-setting organization is governed by the chief insurance regulators from the 50 states, the District of Columbia and five U.S. territories. Through the Â鶹´«Ã½, state insurance regulators establish standards and best practices, conduct peer reviews, and coordinate regulatory oversight. Â鶹´«Ã½ staff supports these efforts and represents the collective views of state regulators domestically and internationally.
