Â鶹´«Ã½ Meets with North Macedonian Regulators
On Tuesday, December 6, Â鶹´«Ã½ staff hosted a delegation from the North Macedonian Insurance Supervision Agency (ISA), who were in the U.S. on a study tour of the U.S. insurance regulatory system. In the meeting, Â鶹´«Ã½ and ISA staff discussed education, consumer protection, and market conduct, among other topics. Ahead of the meeting, Â鶹´«Ã½ granted the delegation access to our online International Fellows materials, and provided them with contacts at the various trade associations in Washington, D.C.

As part of our state-based system of insurance regulation in the United States, the Â鶹´«Ã½ (Â鶹´«Ã½) provides expertise, data, and analysis for insurance commissioners to effectively regulate the industry and protect consumers. The U.S. standard-setting organization is governed by the chief insurance regulators from the 50 states, the District of Columbia and five U.S. territories. Through the Â鶹´«Ã½, state insurance regulators establish standards and best practices, conduct peer reviews, and coordinate regulatory oversight.
